The Swedish Chef Channel

About The Swedish Chef Channel

The Swedish Chef was born in 1913 in Ouagadogou. He is a Jewish Swede, because he realizes that there is only one God. That, of course, would be his Creator: Jim Henson.

Contrary to popular belief, The Swedish Chef's first name is actually "The." His last name, "Chef," was given to him at Ellis Island when the workers there could not understand his original last name, "Chefastakovanov-Troskabelivitch," which is Russian. The Swedish Chef is not Swedish. "Swedish" is just his middle name.

The Swedish Chef got his bachelor's degree in "Hernoffipoof-Foo" from Harvard University Summer School, as a Special Concentration between Economics and Swiss Cheese, a field no longer offered at the University. He is on the faculty of the University of Arizona at Oslo. He has a wife, and two lovely children, who are also muppets.
